I love helping people be healthier, happier, better smile. I do a lot of pain management and that's very rewarding to help someone who's been suffering out of pain.
One of the things I'm struck by and it's always meant a lot to me is a quote from Albert Schweitzer, he says "If I can help save a person from days of torture, that is what I feel is my greatest privilege, because pain is greater lord over mankind than even death itself."
To help get patients out of pain they've suffered for months or years, is really a great privilege and an honor.
At Advanced Dental Concepts, we are proud to have the opportunity to help people with their dental care. We have worked hard to create one of the best dental offices in California. If you are looking for a dental office for your family and yourself, here are several reasons Advanced Dental Concepts and Dr. David B. Miller are the perfect choice.
Family dentistry is the core of any dental practice, and Dr. David Miller has provided personalized dental care to thousands of families. We pride ourselves in utilizing the most modern equipment and methods available with the primary goal of identifying any issues before they manifest as expensive and unwanted problems. Consequently, regular and thorough cleaning and examination appointments are quite possibly the most important services that we provide, since this offers us the opportunity to preserve your family’s most valuable asset, their smiles!
The website for our office is Hi-Tek Smiles. This is a very high tech office. We're fully digital. We use digital records, no more paper charts. We have digital X-rays which means that there is no smelly chemicals developing the film. The amount of radiations that we use, uses with digital films is just a fraction of what it used to be with regular film. We utilize a number of advanced technologies. We have intraoral cameras so that we can educate our patients on the condition of their teeth so we can document the conditions. We have lasers that we use both in the hygiene department and the chair side for dental procedures.
We use a number of other technologies particularly when we're treating facial pain and TMJ patients. I have both a K7 electronics system for measuring the physiological of the TMJ problem. I also have a BioResearch, BioPAK, they're similar products. They're the two leading companies in the treatment of temporomandibular joints and then objectively recording and documenting the patient's physiology.
As with most fields, dental technology has changed a lot in modern times. New research and new tools have been discovered to help improve the quality of your dental health. In order to provide nothing but the best to our patients, our office uses state-of-the-art technologies with all of our procedures. These new technologies, coupled with Dr. Miller’s vast experience, allow us to detect any dental concerns at the earliest stages, allowing our practice to treat your family’s dental issues with comfortable precision so that you and yours may return to doing what you do best! Routinely, our practice is committed to always providing stunning and customized mercury-free dental restorations. Of note: Dr. Miller never places mercury amalgam fillings!
Dr. Miller enjoys learning, so he has invested in modern dental tools such as the K7 System for diagnosing TMJ issues, CEREC for making beautiful crowns right here in our Roseville, CA dental office, and the DIAGNOdent system for identifying cavities before they get big.
Technology isn’t the only thing that has changed in dentistry. Research has helped create new techniques and treatments as well. Dr. Miller has continued to stay on top of dental research with more than 5,400 hours of continuing education. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on dental topics, and he is trained in new techniques and the most modern ways to help with TMJ pain and sleep apnea. With 36 years of experience, Dr. Miller has probably seen your problem before in other patients.
Dr. Miller and the team at Advanced Dental Concepts understand that what happens to your teeth and gums can affect your whole body. Dental treatments can also have unnecessary side effects. For example, mercury found in metal fillings can be toxic to your body. You are much better off with a tooth colored, bonded filling or porcelain onlay to repair tooth decay.
We like to have our patients be comfortable. Being comfortable is one of those things that helps alleviate fear. We have blankets and pillows that we can provide for them to keep them comfortable. We also have a number of ways that we can help them with anxiety. First off, we have nitrous oxide. We have laughing gas, which will help. Laughing gas is kind of funny in that it's an anesthetic, too. Laughing gas will allow them to feel more comfortable and at ease during the dental procedures.
One way to calm nervous patients is through a system called New Calm. New Calm uses alpha wave stimulation in the brain, which is delivered through music in a set of headphones and a dark pair of sunglasses, which allows the patient to just relax and reach a deeper state of relaxation. It's technology that's used by professional athletes. Jordan Spieth the golfer uses that to help hi relax. We can do that. It involves relaxation without having to provide drugs. Also, if patients are very fearful, we also do conscious sedation, where you can take a small pill and be relaxed and dream through the procedure and wake up an hour or two later. However long the procedure takes. You're done.
Our dental office in Roseville, CA is designed with your comfort in mind. We know your comfort is the key to helping get past dental anxiety. We have a refreshment bar in our waiting area, and because Dr. Miller regularly performs pediatric dental treatments, we have a children’s play area to keep kids busy and happy before their appointments.
In regards to children, we typically treat children from the age of 5 and older and suggest that the parents bring their child along during the adult’s checkup appointment to observe how easily and comfortably a dental cleaning and examination are accomplished in our practice. We recommend this so that at the child’s subsequent appointment, that child will not be apprehensive. Some children under the age of 5 are generally best treated at a specialty pediatric dental practice geared for toddlers. Our primary goal for the young new patient is to avoid a negative dental visit which they may psychologically carry with them for the rest of their life!
